FIND BEST PROGRAM FOR YOUR KIDS

Step 1: Choose your program

Active Start

Ages 4–5 ( Le Petit)
Active Start introduces young children to the fun of movement through games and age-appropriate tennis activities. Designed for 4- and 5-year-olds, the program develops balance, coordination, agility, hand-eye coordination, and fundamental movement skills in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment. Children build confidence as they run, jump, throw, catch, and strike while learning to move, listen, and play with others. Active Start provides the perfect foundation for physical literacy and a lifelong enjoyment of tennis and being active.

Red Ball FUNdamentals

Ages 6-8 | Beginners | Girls only
We use low-compression balls, smaller courts, and age-appropriate racquets to help children develop the fundamental skills of tennis, including serving, rallying, and scoring. The modified equipment allows young players to experience success from the very beginning while improving balance, coordination, agility, speed, and overall athletic ability in a fun and engaging environment.

Red Ball Lab

Ages 5-6 | Coachable sporty kids

Please note that registration is for the entire 13-week Fall Session, allowing players to build skills and progress throughout the program. This is a subsidized program.

Please note this is a program designed for coachable kids who have

physical literacy skills and want to learn TENNIS in a fun, disciplined environment.

The Tennis Lab – Red Ball is a unique athletic development program designed for children ages 5 – 6 who want to build more than just tennis skills. Each session combines fun, engaging tennis activities with exercises that develop speed, agility, balance, coordination, reaction time, decision-making, teamwork, and overall physical literacy. By focusing on these essential athletic foundations during the early years of development, children become more confident movers, better problem solvers, and well-rounded athletes while developing a lifelong love of tennis and physical activity.

Orange Ball FUNdamentals

Age 9-11 | Girls only
Whether progressing from Red Ball or picking up a racquet for the first time, Orange Ball is the ideal program for players aged 9–11. Using low-compression orange balls and a 3/4-size court, players continue to develop sound technique while learning to rally consistently, serve, score, and play points with confidence. The modified court and equipment create longer rallies and more success, helping players improve movement, decision-making, and tactical awareness. With a combination of skill development, games, and match play, Orange Ball prepares juniors for the transition to the full court while building confidence and a lifelong enjoyment of tennis.

Orange Ball Lab

Age 7-8 | Coachable sporty kids
The Tennis Lab - Orange Ball is designed for young players ages 7 - 8 who are ready to take the next step in both their athletic and tennis development. Using the Tennis Canada Orange Ball progression, players continue to refine their tennis fundamentals while developing the athletic skills needed for long-term success in sport.

Green Ball FUNdamentals

Age 12+
This exciting program is designed specifically for teens who are new to tennis or looking to improve their game in a fun, social, and active environment. Sessions are game-based from the start, so players spend less time standing in line and more time hitting balls, playing points, and enjoying friendly competition. Players develop solid technical skills while learning how to rally, serve, score, and play both singles and doubles. As their confidence and ability grow, they will progress to using the yellow (regular) tennis ball, preparing them for recreational play, leagues, and match play.

Green Ball Performance

Age 12+
For players who have completed multiple Green Ball sessions and are committed to continuing their development through more advanced technical, tactical, and match-play training.

Junior Team Tennis League

Age 5-11 years
Red Ball & Orange Ball Programs Learning tennis isn't just about taking lessons—it's about playing the game! Our youth programs combine weekly Learn to Play instruction with the excitement of our Junior Team Tennis League, giving young players the absolute best start in the sport. Just like in soccer or basketball, players develop faster when they balance practice with real competition. The league provides valuable extra court time in a fun, coach-supervised environment where players build confidence, sharpen match skills, and learn the value of teamwork.
Players registered in either the First or Second Fundamentals (Learn to Play) session or the Tennis Lab are eligible to join. Players joining during the second session will be assigned to a team and continue league play for the remainder of the season(Teams may combine Red and Orange Ball players depending on registration numbers).
Official Gear: Every player receives an official team T-shirt to wear during league play. Format: 90-minute coach-supervised team sessions held weekly

Fall Academy Program

All our academy programs are delivered by our full-time experienced coaches. Our academy pathway is designed to give players who have made the commitment an opportunity to develop their skills to be able to compete in local, provincial, and national tournaments. Any player who is interested in our orange, green, or junior/senior academy program should please contact Dan before August 23 at dgodwin@volvocarsnbtenniscenter.ca for further information.

Step 2: Find Your Class & Book

Important Info: Fall season has 2 sessions instead of 1

To better meet the needs of our families, we have divided the fall into two shorter sessions rather than one 13–14-week program.

This approach provides greater flexibility for families whose schedules change throughout the fall due to school, other sports, or family commitments. Having two sessions also provides new players with an additional opportunity to join during the season, rather than having to wait several months for the next program to begin.

Families who wish to participate for the entire fall season should register for both Session 1 and Session 2. If you prefer a shorter commitment or have scheduling conflicts, you are also welcome to register for Session 1 only or Session 2 only. This flexible format allows families to choose the option that best fits their schedule while still providing a complete and progressive tennis experience.
